About JL&A Who are your Associates? Associate talent is engaged as needed for specific projects as it is useful to do so. For instance, I can build simple web sites such as this one, but my forte is content and editing, not web site construction. If you want a website developed, you are not limited to my talents, rather that would be handled using various people depending on what you want the site to do. Likewise, some aspects of print, graphics, and editing projects might entail using associate talent. We also handle advertising, public relations, and marketing in a similar manner. Depending on circumstances and your needs, we may arrange the work through JL&A or RealityIsBooks.com, Inc., or you may deal directly with these other sources. Are you open to working with new Associates? Absolutely, again depending on timing and need. Email a resume and a cover letter describing what it is that you have in mind. What is it, exactly, that you do? My day job is as the editor of The Monthly Aspectarian magazine. The Aspectarian is a specialty interest publication in the Chicago area with about 100,000 regular readers. Topics include spirituality, religion, astrology, philosophy, alternative health, self improvement, and related subjects. This site is not connected with that magazine. My wife and I recently launched an online book store dedicated to similar metaphysical and self-help topics, www.RealityIsBooks.com. For now, we sell (but do not attempt to list) all the titles available from the world's largest book wholesaler, including those from several print on demand publishers. In the future, we may also sell books from independent publishers. In addition to a longtime interest in metaphysical subjects, my background includes over thirty years experience in sales and consulting for mid-range, network, and personal computer systems, and the development, writing, editing, design, and production of advertising, promotional, and training materials for clients such as the American Hospital Association, Budweiser/Anheuser-Busch, Holiday Inns, McDonalds, Motorola, and Pabst Brewing Co. The various communications related activities of James Loftus & Associates are available to clients on a part-time, freelance basis. If any of these may be of interest to you, please contact me by phone or email, below. How do I send you my manuscript? ![]() If you have a manuscript you are considering publishing, we need to discuss your project first to determine whether the services offered here are appropriate for your objectives. Please call or send an email, and I will certainly reply. Can I send you something to add to the Click Me portion of this site? Of course. If it is something that is consistent with the rest of the site content, I will be glad to consider it and, if it is added to the site, give you credit and a link to your web site or post your email contact as appropriate. Include this information with whatever you send, please. What are the illustrations you have used here? Most of them are scanned from a reprint of the 1865 edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Charles L. Dodgson under the pen name of Lewis Carroll. The artist is, of course, John Tenniel, later knighted by Queen Victoria. These illustrations are what could be considered the original Alice art, although Dodgson himself illustrated an earlier manuscript version of the book. James Loftus & Associates
